Visit the American Cancer Society website to learn more, including in-depth information about your type of cancer. You’ll also find coping tips, information about treatment options and more.
When you’ve completed the therapies in your treatment plan and testing shows no further evidence of cancer, you begin a new and hopeful phase in your journey. Your doctor will discuss next steps, including the Providence Survivorship Program, which keeps you in touch with your Providence cancer doctors and care team. They will continue to follow your care after you transition back to seeing your primary care doctor for routine health care needs.
During this post-treatment phase, preventive care and healthy lifestyle changes are important to help you stay as healthy as possible. Through our Survivorship Program, you’ll learn about resources and ways to improve your health and well-being while reducing the chance of your cancer coming back. We’ll also guide you if you experience treatment after-effects or other health concerns. Ask your doctor or care team for details.
