Spiritual Care and Chapel
For patients, their loved ones and caregivers, the experience of illness or hospitalization often raises profound spiritual questions. Our spiritual care service provides full-time, professionally trained chaplains, and can contact local groups to serve your spiritual needs.
The chaplain’s ministry offers support through prayer, compassionate listening, presence and counseling. You or your family can call upon a chaplain at any time by calling the hospital operator or by asking your nurse.
The ministry of our Priests and Protestant Ministers is augmented by a complement of Volunteer Ministers to the Sick. Eucharistic Ministers will bring Holy Communion to those requesting the Eucharist, and pastoral visitors of various faith communities are available as well. Spiritual care maintains interfaith relationships with congregations and religious leaders in the area. Ministers of local churches and religious groups visit patients regularly. Our chaplains would be happy to contact them for you.
The Spiritual Care Department may be reached by contacting the nurse on duty.
The chapel is located on the fourth floor of the main building and a meditation room is located on the first floor of the patient care wing. Mass is celebrated in the chapel and shown on Channel 34/35 at 11:30 a.m. every day.
The prayer room is located on the main floor of the hospital by the Herman Pavilion Lobby.
