Nominate Our Caregivers for Living Our Values and Promise
Celebrate the compassion and skill of our remarkable caregivers, nurses, and physicians.
Our Petaluma Valley Hospital caregivers, nurses, and providers are our greatest asset. If a member of our team made a positive impression on you or your family, please consider nominating them for one of these awards so that we can thank them for going above and beyond:
DAISY Award—Nursing Staff: The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes to recognize exceptional nurses for their compassion and skill. The Foundation partners with health care organizations, including Providence, to honor the superhuman work nurses do for patients and families every day. This award recognizes the extraordinary work that nurses do every day and is given bi-annually to an outstanding and compassionate nurse.

The Poppy Award—All Other Roles: The Poppy Award is a program that celebrates the extraordinary skills and compassionate service of our non-nursing caregivers and volunteers. Named after the California poppy flower, this award honors non-nursing caregivers and volunteers who bring beauty to the experience of patients, their families, and other caregivers. The Poppy Award is given bi-annually to our caregivers that serve in departments such as Environmental Services, Registration, Rehabilitation, Laboratory, Case Management, Food & Nutrition and Radiology, as well as secretaries, nursing assistants, providers, and other caregivers throughout the hospital.
Recognize a non-nursing caregiver or provider for excellent care or service.
Promise in Action—Teams: Promise in Action is a fun way to provide visibility for successes, identify rising stars, encourage positive personal interaction and communication, and make appreciation of each other a habit.
Recognize a caregiver, provider, or team for living out our Promise every day.
