Volunteers and donors are the heart of Providence St. Patrick Hospital and we graciously accept and are thankful for all of the ways people help us in achieving our Mission. You can help Providence St. Patrick Hospital by volunteering your time or contributing to one of the charitable organizations we are affiliated with, including Providence Montana Health Foundation and the Montana Cancer Institute Foundation.
Volunteering
Providence St. Patrick Hospital’s dedicated volunteers provide support to patients, visitors and caregivers in a variety of areas throughout the hospital.
Volunteer assignments can include:
- Giving patients and visitors directions and escorting them when they need assistance
- Delivering flowers to patient rooms
- Delivering supplies around the hospital
- Visiting patient rooms with the patient activity cart, including coloring books, games, puzzles and playing cards
We follow a very thorough process to ensure a safe and healthy environment for you, our caregivers and the patients and families we serve. If you accept an offered position, onboarding will include completing orientation, passing a national criminal background check, clearing a health screening and completing role-specific training.
In addition to the time needed for onboarding, which may take a couple weeks or more, we require a minimum commitment of 75 hours of service, which for most positions is fulfilled through the same 3.5hour shift per week for at least six consecutive months. We understand volunteers will also need time off for vacation or other commitments.
If you are a student or future student, in need of volunteer hours for school, we recommend completing a volunteer application no later than (7) months prior to your intended class or program deadline.
We value our volunteers and try to make each of their experiences fun and rewarding. We encourage both the young and the young at heart to apply to be a volunteer at Providence St. Patrick Hospital.
