Recognition
Some of the most well-respected programs and institutions in the U.S. have recognized our commitment to excellent care for Alaskans. These awards and ratings reflect the exceptional work of our highly experienced team and affiliated physicians.
An example of their dedication and collaboration is the three-star rating (highest possible) from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons for patient care and outcomes in aortic valve replacement (AVR) combined with coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) for reporting period January 2021 through December 2023. Historically, about 4-7% of participating surgeons and surgeon groups in the U.S. and Canada receive the three-star rating for this complicated surgery.
We are proud to have earned the following additional recognitions:
U.S. News & World Report
Each year, U.S. News & World Report ranks hospitals in 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions as well as high quality across all areas of care. An overall rating of "high performing" indicates a hospital was significantly better than the national average in a given procedure or condition. The "best regional" rank is determined by a hospital’s performance in the adult specialty rankings analysis and by its scores across each of the 20 procedure and condition areas U.S. News & World Report evaluates.
