Supplier Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (SDEI)
Providence is committed to providing opportunities to a diverse supplier population, including local and disadvantaged businesses; women-, veteran- and minority-owned businesses; LGBTQ+ businesses and small businesses located in historically underutilized business zones. (Recognized businesses must be at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by people who meet the forementioned categories.) Here at Providence, we advocate for the advancement and growth of diverse suppliers by integrating supplier diversity within our strategic sourcing and procurement processes. We participate in outreach programs to identify and support diverse supplier participation and third-party certification.
Providence encourages all diverse suppliers to obtain third-party certification as it can be a valuable tool for businesses seeking to differentiate themselves — suppliers may register with SupplierGateway's Enhanced Digital Certification program. Please visit SupplierGateway's credentialing portal to get started.
Providence also recognizes and participates in the following organizations that provide diverse supplier certification, in addition to supplier advocacy, development and business growth opportunities:
• National LGBT Chamber of Commerce Certification (NGLCC)
• National Veterans Business Development Council Certification (NVBDC)
• Small Business Administration Certification (SBA)
• U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC)
• Women’s Business Enterprise National Council Certification (WBENC)
• Western Regional Minority Supplier Development Council Certification (WRMSDC)
Tier II program and reporting
Providence seeks to amplify the positive impact of our supplier diversity program by encouraging our Principal/Prime suppliers to engage with diverse suppliers throughout their supply chain — often referred to as the Tier II Diverse Supplier program. The Tier II subcontracting program is a component of our supplier diversity, equity and inclusion (SDEI) strategy that ensures diverse businesses are afforded opportunities to do business with us as a subcontractor to our Principal/Prime suppliers. Prime suppliers are encouraged to adopt Providence’s commitment to SDEI and submit its Tier II diverse spend impact on a quarterly basis using Providence’s Tier II Diverse Spend Reporting Template.
If you are interested in participating in our Tier II Diverse Supplier program, please contact [email protected].
