NW CNE Program
The Nursing Education Department at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett provides professional development and educational support for clinical staff throughout the organization. Our nursing education programs focus on evidence-based practice, current nursing research, quality improvement and professional development.
This department manages the onboarding of both newly licensed and experienced staff, coordinating our education programs to meet individual learning needs. We follow a competency-based education model and have incorporated both high and low-fidelity simulation within our education programs. Our staff include Clinical Educators and Clinical Nurse Specialists serving each specialty area as well as a Simulation Program Coordinator.
I.C.A.R.E professional practice model
Our professional practice model is represented by the schematic diagram below and depicts how nurses practice, collaborate, communicate, and develop professionally to provide the highest quality of nursing care to those we serve. At the heart of the model is the patient/family/community, surrounded by five key nursing competencies to which we are committed in our quest for clinical excellence.
Nurses are:
- Informed
- Collaborative
- Accountable
- Reliable
- Evidence-Based
The outer ring of the model demonstrates commitment that surrounds everything we do: "Know me, care for me, ease my way." The components of our model are illustrated in our job descriptions, onboarding processes, strategic planning, and annual goal setting.
As we continue to grow and develop our nurses, these five components will remain pillars that support our future of nursing care.
