Your Baby Needs a Doctor
A pediatrician, family medicine physician or nurse practitioner can serve as your baby’s primary care provider. The choice is up to you.
Pediatricians are doctors who have special training in providing general medical care to babies and children, ranging in age from newborn to 18 years.
Family medicine physicians are doctors who have special training in providing general medical care to all family members, ranging in age from newborn through adulthood.
Nurse practitioners are registered nurses who have advanced training. Although they work under the supervision of physicians, nurse practitioners are licensed to perform health assessments and coordinate general medical care.
