Pediatric Oncology
Children and adolescents who need treatment for cancer or blood-related disorders have an experienced and knowledgeable team ready to help. We provide access to leading therapies and research through collaboration with the Children's Oncology Group (COG), the world's largest cancer research collaborative.
The inpatient pediatric floor is a 36-bed unit that includes an on-site pharmacy, child life and case management services. Patients have access to state-of-the-art diagnostic services, including MRI, Spect MRI and a PET/CT scanner.
Covenant Children's also has a dedicated pediatric-only outpatient pediatric oncology unit located in the connected Medical Office Building. Our pediatric oncologists cover both our inpatient and outpatient oncology services – ensuring continuity of care for all your child's oncology needs.
Our our oncology services are staffed with the research oriented physicians of Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Patients are cared for by a dedicated team of surgeons, certified pediatric oncologists, radiation therapists, certified clinical research associats and other cancer specialists who work together under one roof for truly multidisciplinary cancer treatment.
The care team includes dedicated Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and chemotherapy-certified pediatric oncology nursing staff.
We also have a dedicated child life specialist that helps your child understand and cope with their diagnosis and treatment. They're there, like the rest of the team, supporting you and your family throughout your child's treatment!
