Sylvain “Syl” Trepanier, DNP, RN, is the chief nursing officer for Providence. In this position, he serves as the voice for nursing at the senior executive level.

Dr. Trepanier is a seasoned nurse executive with experience in health care system executive leadership, organizational transformation and system standardization. His passion is creating health care systems where delivering and receiving care is safe.

Dr. Trepanier is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the American Organization of Nursing Leadership (AONL). He is also an assistant professor for Texas Tech University Health Science Center in the Master’s in Nursing Administration program. He represents the nursing profession on multiple national and international boards, including but not limited to AONL’s Board of Directors, the American Hospital Association's Clinical Leadership Committee, the American Academy of Nursing’s Audit & Risk Committee, OpusVi Board of Trustees, and CGFNS International Board of Trustees.

Dr. Trepanier obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Montreal, Canada, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Texas Tech University Health Science Center (TTUHSC), Anita Thigpen Perry School of Nursing.
