Dougal Hewitt

Dougal Hewitt serves as chief mission and sponsorship officer for Providence. In this role, he oversees Mission Integration and formation, the University of Providence, spiritual health, ethics and community benefit, as well as serving as the liaison with the Providence St. Joseph Health Sponsors Council.

Prior to joining Providence, Dougal most recently served as chief officer for mission and external affairs at Presence Health in Chicago. His previous leadership roles were with Bon Secours in Richmond, Va., and with Eastern Mercy Health System in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Currently, he serves on the boards of the St. Joseph Fund and Well Being Trust.

Dougal holds a master’s in public administration from the University of Pennsylvania, and a master’s in modern history and international relations from the University of Saint Andrews in Scotland. He has also pursued post-graduate studies in architecture and community health at the University of Miami. Dougal holds certificates in ethics from Georgetown University and in integral leadership from the University of Notre Dame.
